Dunc, the upper tailgate is plastic and get condensation between the two skins, also the upper tailgate press rubber cover can perish andlets water into the tailgate so be prepared for more than just a new press button! It sounds like the mirror may have been hit at some time and the casing needs to be reset, IIRC you will find a very very old thread here that has the instructions for the reset procedure for manually folding it to get it re-synched 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I think the mirror is actually broken. I did a Google search and found a few references to resynching them by pressing the fold button very quickly twice. All that did was lose the fold function completely.

I have now finished fitting a genuine tow bar electrics kit. And picked up a second hand barely used detachable swan neck ready to tow the caravan at half term. Long term I will probably fit a fixed towbar, but for now this will do.

Thanks a lot. it recently had to go to body shop after an unfortunate incident but pick it up tomorrow. Then it will be away to get machine polished to bring it back to new! |
