Q611

Anyone know what Q611 service action update is?

Apparently my car had it today during its routine service. It also got the Q606 KVM change, which I do know about. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

OK - found it on Topix - Diesel additive quality warning update.

Not sure what it does but at last I know what it was about. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

Don't think so, the Q611 thing was about AdBlue "Quality", not "Quantity".

The system has to be able to detect liquids that are NOT AdBlue, to stop you from refilling with water to get the thing going again if you run out..................

My car already had a top up at 9000 miles, as it was never going to last much more than that. It was topped up at the recent service, too, so I expect another top up will be needed in 9000 miles time! MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

Righto.

I hadn't thought there'd be different qualities of additive. You'd think there would be a set standard that manufacturers had to adhere to (a bit like engine oils). Things are getting a bit too technically advanced if the car can assess the quality of fuel additive and reject it Shocked Pity it can't do the same for quality of workmanship on services Whistle I'm in the shed, I'll be back in the real world in a minute.

Is there anyone that could help me and find out what this bulletin says? I currently have no topix subscription unfortunately.

The new L494 from my parents, with barely 2000km, was in the garage for a full week because of this warning and in the end they only refilled the AdBlue. Why it took them a week is beyond any of us, but I am curious if they actually did what they had to do or just patched the problem for another 2k km.
