As I don't commute/ use the car in the week, it seemed quite expensive for the limited use I would get out of it...

Not worth it if not used daily as you say.

I've just bought an 18 month old 3 litre SDV6 Autobiography Dynamic; the only thing I wish it had was Blind Spot Mirrors; this is the first 5 door car I have ever owned, and the first 4 door (aka large B pillar) car in 20 years. I find the blind spots unwantedly large...

Mine also has Privacy Glass, but I really do wonder why anyone orders it Question

+1 for blind spot monitor, closing vehicle sensor and reverse traffic detection. L494 has smaller wing mirrors that are shaped more with aesthetics in mind than function Rolling Eyes I was used to my L320's large, squarish mirrors that covered a bigger area and it took some time familiarisig myself with L494 mirrors. Blind spot monitoring compensates for this drawback and more.

I don't use my car daily either but still find remote climate very useful. Entirely personal preference.

Some people also rate heated steering wheel highly. I don't use mine much (because of RPH).

Sidesteps can also be useful especially if you have young children.

The closing vehicle sensor has saved my bacon a few times reversing out of parking spaces.

BSM - helpful.

Heated steering wheel - a new "if it doesn't have it I won't buy it " option. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

Thanks guys, very useful suggestions.

I was looking up the price of the BSM etc on the configurator and it appears that the Drive Pack which is usually £800, drops to £195 if you have selected the auto dimming mirrors. Does that make sense? If so I will certainly ask the dealer to add it.

Here are a couple of pics:

Heated steering wheel a must now I have had it. Just got it on my new BMW too.

Do have a quick look at the price of an Autobiography as some of the options you have are standard on that and so the residual value will reflect them.

I changed mine and the cost increase was relatively small for lots more toys!! MY16 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography in Aleutian silver, stealth pack and toys.

Your residual will be better if you select the Autobiography derivative. Some of your options are standard.

Are you sure about grand black veneer, it scratches big time. I know it looks the biz, BUT the large flat surfaces between driver and passenger will be abused. Stick with the standard trim, it looks good and is durable imho...

Visibilty is great so blind spot monitor not required, nor is speed limit indicator. Had it on my last car and realised i never drove anywhere unfamiliar and when I did I was more vigalent anyway..get privacy and the heated steering wheel... Gone:
