FBH Issue

Hi Guys,

Had an issue early this year that has re-appeared.
My FBH decides that its not going to work. Sometimes the remote will work after the car has been started then stopped, other times nothing.
The timer doesn't work at all now, it goes back in time too lol.

Lets say its set to come on at 6:20 am and 16:40 pm every day. So the "Next Event Timer" should show the next time it will come on but after it hasn't run the FBH, the next event timer shows as Saturday 1:00 1/1/0 even though the screen with the 7 days shows it as next being 16:40 and the date as 07th of November.

That's a weird one.
Try disconnecting the battery. If you don't have stop start, then hold the battery cables together for twenty seconds. Then reconnect. Might sort it out, but it's a strange one for sure. Bodsys Brake Bible

Hi ya,

It's a special battery by Vatar (I am an oem so get freebies lol) and is a stop start advanced one and is only about 6 months old.
No dash warnings at start up of low voltage etc.

Have you checked the voltage through the special menu or a diagnostic tool? If it's a bit low, I don't think it will work. Mine isn't currently, and when I checked the battery strength it was a bit low (and is fully fuelled up) 2010 TDV8

Just because the car starts ok and you've been driving, doesn't mean to say the battery voltage is all it should be.

But nonetheless, the timing issue on the screen, perhaps needs a software update. Bodsys Brake Bible

Cheers guys, I will put on charge tonight.
Any idea what the minimum voltage is for the FBH to operate so I can check it.

There's nothing in the workshop details, but I've found that if it's less than 12.3v, it doesn't like to work. Bodsys Brake Bible

Great stuff. By the way that's a really bad setting they have as most batteries sit at around 12.4 so no room for margin.
I would have set it at say 12.2
Even the stop start I designed will work until 12.2 lol

This may or may not be related, but i find if i don't double lock my MY12 overnight i find the FBH doesn't not come on.

I read somewhere that double locking means the car won't wake in the night to self level. I wondered if us doing short runs, < 10 miles each way to work would tip the battery on the low side and with the pump perhaps coming on over night it would not be charged enough in the morning for the FBH to fire. I always got the warning - Battery or fuel level too low when i got into the car in the mornings. Double locking means the FBH comes on timed now.

Weirdly i don't have to double lock during the day at work car park and it comes on at 4.50pm on the dot with no issues. Although it may be that its sitting on the drive from 5.30pm-7.50am most days and only from 9am to 5pm during the day.

No idea, just thought it may be related. 2015 RRS AB SDV6, Fuji White, Ivory
