England 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey
[Wanted] Grey 2010 RRS TDV6

Hi, I'm brand new to the forum so apologies if im breaking any rules.

I've been looking for a suitable grey RRS TDV6 with under 65k miles and full history within 80 miles of my location for about 7 months and have had no luck so far, so i thought id try my luck on here to see if anyone might be willing to part with theirs.

Thanks,
Mark, Newcastle

Something like this would be perfect... http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201610279188154

But it was already sold when I called about it.

Thanks,
Mark

Wales 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Lux Sumatra Black

Mark, be careful when purchasing and reading the specifications of cars being advertised.
That particular model is the pre-face lift so only has 6 speed gearbox not 8 speed. Won't have the electric one piece lightweight tailgate, the SDV6 better engine, and the mpg won't be quite as good. Most 2010 models will be the facelift (2010-2013) model, but not all, as seen.
The small print for this dealer says that the description of cars could/will be of the latest specification available, and may be missing things due to not being matching specification of for sale vehicle. Always check the car by looking or asking the questions to ensure you get what you want.

If car shown had everything you wanted then fine and I apologise for bringing to your attention.

If you can purchase from a LR dealership you will generally get a much better warranty around 2 years. 7 day fully comp insurance giving you time to search out best cover and drive straight away, FSH, MOT pass for two years, and a half day off road driving experience, other things may be offered dependant on the dealer, but cars can be slightly more expensive.
Independent LR dealers may also have good serviced stock. John

United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Bali Blue

Why limit yourself to an 80 mile radius?,, expand your area and you will have far more choice. I looked for a good while before finding mine,,, not the colour I was looking for and neither was the interior,, or the mileage but never regretted it, everybody always comments on it. I ended up travelling to Peterborough to get it, never too far if it's the car you want. 2010 RRS, TDV8
bali Blue / colour coded
side steps / flappy paddles
black perforated leather
22" overfinch
heated everything, TV,fridge ...... now with gold calipers and mud flaps !( black mud flaps that is) !!
Many years ago,,,,, 1955 series 1 landie , sometimes wish I had kept it

That looked like a good one, seemed like it was the first facelift from the original RRS, If its anything like the discovery's (it should be) then the tdv6 fitted to the facelift car should be the same as the 2010 SDV6? same engine, just the badging hadn't changed yet. check outputs for confirmation though.

I'm also after about the same thing! (competition Wink )

Thanks for the advice, much appreciated.

I've found a black one, not my ideal colour but like you said Gogsy I'm sure i'll get over it Smile

My budget won't stretch to a SDV6 unfortunately so I'm happy with a face-lift 2010 for now... The car seems a pretty good example with 55k miles but its due a service (B service) so i'll have to use that as a bartering tool to get the price down. Anyone got an idea how much this is likely to cost by any chance? I've rang LR Newcastle for a quote but they couldn't tell me because they were all "busy with customers" haha, typical eh.

Going to look at it this afternoon, wish me luck

Around the £600 +VAT price, but does depend where around the country as labour rates can vary wildly, and if anything else is found that needs sorting etc. John

Agreed. But you don't need a main dealer service at that age, a specialist would be great. In any event the cost of the service will grow meaningfully if bits and bobs need doing like brakes or bushes or wotnot. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso
RRS TDV6 HSE Lux (MY2011)... Nara Bronze / Arabica - now gone!

Thanks Johnski and Ilard, seems fair to be honest, and there is a Land Rover Specialist not far from me where I'd get brakes and bushed etc done if needed.

Well yesterday was a waste of time Sad they told me it was "excellent condition" with "full LAND ROVER history" over the phone but when i arrived it had scratches all over it and a rip in the drivers seat, the service history wasn't Land Rover either and the last one had clearly been been changed from 2014 to 2015.

The search goes on... Banging Head

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Don't despair there there are lots of them out there and some gems available if you delve deep enough and travel a bit. There is an old adage about buying use Land Rover products............. never buy the first one you go to look at! I'm afraid also that in this day and age one person's "fantastic condition for age" is not the same as some one else's and these cars are hugely expensive to maintain once they get a bit older so folks on a tight budget sometimes run them into the ground, neglect servicing and replace tyres with totally unsuiitable budget brands trying to save money and they expect top dollar for what looks nice in the flesh/ photos but is really a wreck underneath when they come to sell. Will your budget not stretch to a Land Rover Approved used vehicle? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Thanks Tim, yeah I've looked at 3 now, one of which was perfect but had sold before I had the chance to put my deposit down.

Agree about the condition issue, seems like everyone just says "Excellent" regardless or what its like, best to just go and judge for yourself.

I don't really want to spend much more than £23k but I'm a cash buyer and don't need finance so hopefully that will appeal more to a dealer, we'll see Smile

England 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

So finally after 7 months I found the perfect RRS this Saturday up in Bonny Scotland, obviously still getting used to it but so far I absolutely love it, no wonder they are so popular Smile

Pics in my gallery (if I have done it correctly) I'll get some better ones soon. After a couple of subtle changes
