Just driven home to be greeted by the idiots driving around in the car body rotting gritters. The roads are completely dry with clear sky's, when we do need them which as far as I'm concerned is never they don't come out. Buy a 4x4, not the milk float variety. Next thing the councils will be bleating that they've run out of grit.

There is a forecast for wide spread frosts for tonight across most of the Country, with temperatures below 0c.
It appears the councils can't win, they are instructed by set down procedures, which are triggered by the Forecasted received, and "generally" they act in good faith.
The Rock Salt does help if laid before the freeze, it doesn't work, hardly half as well, by putting it on after the event. John
