is there a towing weight limit that can be towed with the removeable tow bar that comes with the range rover sport as i have noticed that some range rovers have aftermarket towbars fitted

The removable ball has a 3500kg limit with a 150kg nose weight limit. LR state that the removable ball is not for constant/commercial style use.

There have been instances of the removable ball falling out of the socket and LR had a recall campaign for this. The outcome was that balls that were "loose" were replaced FOC with LR's heavy duty bar.

Some people have elected to fit other bars to ensure the bar is secure in use. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Lots of people use the removable ball without any issues. If you're towing your tin tent every weekend then it might be prudent to go for one of the permanent bars instead.

I've ordered a tow trust bar because although my removable one feels pretty secure, the thought of a horse trailer with horses in it falling off is quite, erm, scary. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
