Just popping by from the other side! Why do people talk about Lexus so much, my mate has rejected 2 now and had appaling service along the way. RR has had its fair share of problems a friend has had a cylinder go and a gear box. I reckon the Jag engines now are far superior, the RRS is more livable with as it is a fair bit smaller and a hell of a lot more manouverable, better off road too. The only thing that I wish it had was a split tailgate that you can sit on. It probably doesn't worry 99% of people but it would bug me. If you want my opinion (you probably don't!) I think you bought the best car in its class and I'm sure it'll even make a New Yorker smile! Enjoy

Sport are all crazy for it !! In fact they love it
so much.....it has pride of place in the garage
which is filled to the brim with BMW, Mercedes,
Porches and of course the dreary Lexus.
'Go figure' as they say here in the US !

I drove my RRS in my old neightborhood in NYC and man I felt like a STAR . I had people pulling me over asking me if it was the 2006 RRS. Or what year is that truck. But after a while I put my 390 horses to use and drove fast as hell out of their before I get CAR JACKED. WE ALL MADE A GREAT CHOICE. I CAN NOT WAIT TO DRIVE HOME TODAY.

As a newbie here it is interesting to here of the differing opinions regarding peoples tolerance towards faults.........i have owned prestige german marques for the last 6 years ,mainly 911's and now an M3 with no problems as such.........i still use the porsche forums daily and believe me a lot of people have problems with the percieved reliable german machines ......i think most marques have their fair share, and unfairly the vehicles bad points get advertised far more than their good points get praise for. It makes the decision for the uninitiated like myself harder as we are taking onboard so many different opinions some tainted by what people thought the vehicle might provide and it falling short of their expectations hence their slating of the said vehicle.....what is it we are told .....?

Hi all, first post from me, but I wanted to add that I also looked hard at his forum and it very nearly stopped me buying a RRS, but in the end I did get one two weeks ago which is a TDV8 MY08.5 and is a joy to drive. Touch wood nothing has gone wrong to date and I can see no reason for it too. Having spoken to a number of RRS drivers in Brisbane where I live and none of them have had any drama either.

I have had Mercedes and Lexus and they had issues but nothing that stopped the car.

Anyway great forum, people and as they say if your car has an issue then it has a bit of character, nothing wrong with that. Steve

I think it should be noted that whatever you buy, you can end up with a lemon. The nature of forums like these (for any marque) is that people will moan when they have problems, but not sing the praises of their vehicle when it's working. Each car has it's own set of known problems which, as time goes by, the manufacturer hopefully sorts out. The main bone of contention is the DR "knocking" on the RRS which has never really been sorted, although there's a rumour that a redesigned set of components are in the pipeline.

I don't really see the RRS has anything going for it that says you shouldn't buy one.
