Disco 3 19" wheels to RRS

Hi, been looking for 19" wheels to my 2006 RRS instead 18's. There's a set of Disco wheels for sale for reasonable price, but I'm a little bit concern about the looks. I found one image from the deepest, darkest corner of internet. What is nice, is that my car is same colour, but that angle of wiew could be better.
Has anybody happen to have a picture of RRS with same style wheels? Sidewiew? Would be highly appreciated!!

I looked into these for winter set and they're not size specified in handbook so if you fit them they're classed as a modification for insurance so make sure you inform them or you're not insured Thumbs Up

In my case I would have to do this every 6 months and would cost 50 a year so I didn't bother and bought genuine rrs set Confused Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!

I bought a set of style 5 19"s for my TDV8 with Michelin winter tyres and they worked really well. I'm actually planning to clean them up and get some photo's this weekend to offer them for sale on the forum. This isn't a cheeky ad, I'll do that properly hopefully on Sunday but 19" wheels with the right profile tyres gave a very smooth and assured ride and I thought they looked good.

I spoke to my insurer LV and they said that as long as 19" wheels had been specced for the vehicle I could swap them whenever I wanted and didn't need to inform them. I took some comfort from the tyre pressure information on the door showing pressures for both 19" and 20".

Thumbs Up Now sold 2010 TDV8 Santorini black, lots of extras and best car I ever owned, and there's been a few. I will be back.

I came back with an L405 FFRR

Just realised OP location is Finland so rules may be different Confused

The "specced for the vehicle" is critical here - the Discovery alloys on OP are not specced for RRS hence the modification clause and excuse to charge the customer Sad

I had these on my SDV6 without issue as they were std spec for SE and optional on HSE Thumbs Up

I also had these on MY10 TDV6

We might have, and we actually do have idiotic burocracy here in Finland. Especially when it comes to any kind of motored vehicle.
But no, nobody's interested which kind of wheels you have in you car. They can be 1" larger diameter than original and tyres can be 30mm wider and you're fine. If they are bigger than that, you go to local MOT to show them. If they seem to fit, they will print it to registration papers and you're fine again. Insurance company isn't interested at all.

I drove 2-3 weeks 2012 RRS with exactly same style of wheels than you did. Feeling behind the steering wheel was very nice with 19's so that's why I want them, not any bigger. Razz

Mine were/are 255/50 R19, not quite the cushioning of the 55's but very, very close to the standard 275/40 R20. Now sold 2010 TDV8 Santorini black, lots of extras and best car I ever owned, and there's been a few. I will be back.

Been running 255/55/19 for years. Insurance informed and they weren't bothered. As well as the ride etc. the deeper sidewall fills the wheel well more than standard. It certainly looks better than 22 inch rims with rubber bands stretched over them. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Agree with the above

I used to run my Brmbo'd RRS on 19" Disco alloys with Wintrac Extremes and actually preferred the ride compliance over the 20" Scorpions which it ran for the other 9 months of the year

I really should make an effort to list them for sale now the car has gone but Ive only got as far as working out the tyres have done 5 winters and approx 12,000 miles and have 7mm of tread left

Smile

Hi Finn mc.

I just came across your message as I'm currently looking at similar wheels for my RRS. Did you ever manage to track down anymore photos of an RRS on those alloys or did you buy the ones you were looking at anyway? Would love to see any photos you have.

Best wishes

G
