Key Fob Fixed

Hi,

I just wanted to share my experience with my key issues. I have Range Rover Sport, For months my key fob was wearing down and becoming very unreliable. I had a very big shock when getting quotes for a new key, I think the cheapest was £180 to replace. After some searching on the internet i came across this website. www.keys2u.co.uk
At first i was very sceptical but i bit the bullet, sent my key through the post. Within 48hrs and at a cost of around £40 my key was returned working like brand spanking new. Id never even heard of a service like this. Im so glad i stumbled across it. So maybe it may be of use to some of the members of this forum. Thumbs Up

As you live in Lancashire, and the key company is in Lancashire, why didn't you visit them? 07,TDV8,Black, Black Heated leather all round, Rear Entertainment with Headpones & Remote, TV, DVD, Pure Dab Digital Radio, Sidesteps, Adaptive Headlights, sunroof, now working fuel burning heater Smile)))

Have a look on ebay, you can get a new battery and case for under a tenner..

But £40 and not having to mess around sounds like a fairly good deal Thumbs Up

Well I did ring them but he said he could not guarantee he could do it the moment i arrived. However he said i could drop the key off and collect later but as I live in Lancaster and they are Leyland it was an hour there and an hour back so just posted it. All i did was type in google Range Rover Key Fob and they came up first.

interesting, I might give them a go as I need a new fob, I could go the ebay route, but if they put a new battery in it, and cut the key, then its a bargain 07,TDV8,Black, Black Heated leather all round, Rear Entertainment with Headpones & Remote, TV, DVD, Pure Dab Digital Radio, Sidesteps, Adaptive Headlights, sunroof, now working fuel burning heater Smile)))

Thats what I thought, especially after the quote on a new key and coding. I just thought what a brilliant idea to have it repaired. Never new it even exsisted, I just thought to google for a cheaper supplier of new keys and found it. I was very happy with it thats all I can say

I totally agree, however rruk can not replace the buttons or deal with circuit faults or transponder faults. Im not knocking the guy at all its just my key was badly damaged. Plus if anything goes wrong your covered.

Ah ok, I mean the actual buttons, i think they are called micro switches and they are soldered on the circuit board itself. What happened with mine was the case was worn away that badly. I was actually poking the micro switch through the hole with my finger. Untill eventually it fell off. Big Cry But mines all sorted now, was just sharing to save others buying a new key when it can be repaired. Thumbs Up

Really?

I am calling shilling on this one. It's easy enough to have a chat with Martin and offer your service/item to the community here without the smoke and mirrors. Get a 2005-2009 RRS (FAH500210) sat nav/dash mat here - the one that wasn't there when you bought the car.

Spiffing wheel centre caps available

Yes really, Jesus what is wrong with people, Im not forcing you to use them just informing people about the service.
When you type things in Google it can be location precise, ie you get whats nearest to you. So may be different in different parts of the country

Yep, based on your post I tried them.

Had a non working fob that I had tried fitting a new battery and case to but was still dead.

Sent off Monday and got back today fixed for £38. I know we have the offer for the refurb case on forum but only for working fobs he specifically says cannot fix faulty ones

Very happy as was looking at ordering whole new key fob with programming at a cost of about £250 but saw this post and thought worth a try

Thank you minty77 Thumbs Up if you have a non working fob its worth giving www.keys2u.co.uk a try as if they cant fix they refund the fee TDV8 now with extra grin factor thanks to Alive Tunning: Gone but not forgotten
