2013 Black edition only 15k miles. Is Iow mileage an issue?

Hi guys. I'm currently looking for an RRSport and have found a black edition that has only 15k miles. From my limited knowledge I'm under the impression that low mileage may cause issues I.e. if I car has sat all winter without being driven. Its an approved used car so does come with warranty.

Anyone got any insight?

With that low miles I'd grab it Whistle you have the reassurance of a 2 year warranty so no need to worry. Think of it in a positive way less wear and tear on interior and exterior. Thumbs Up

Could be many reasons for the low mileage, 2nd or 3rd car for some, specifically used for a certain jobs only or maybe someone wanted a big car to feel safe in while just pottering about town. Could ask who ever the dealer is if the have the details of previous owners (should be on v5) then possibly get in contact, but if the car is warranted then if you had any issues at least your covered.

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

3 things to watch: a) That it has still been serviced at 12 months interval even though it hasn't made the annual miles requirement - 12 months or 12,000 whichever comes first. And b) if it has sat outside all that time check the tyres are not perished with UV exposure or have flat spots on them. Even if they look brand new tread wise the rubber could still be in poor condition. C) Check the air con gas hasn't been lost if it hasn't been used a lot then the compressor hasn't had all the running it should and many people don't run even climate control in winter for reasons unknown (economy, as I suspect that like a lot of people think, air is only for hot days but modern systems don't put a big load on the engine/alternator like the old systems did!)
Otherwise if the price is right for a 3 years old RRS go for it, but don't pay more just because it has hardly been used. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Thanks for all the advice guys.

They are asking for a higher price due to the mileage and condition.

Any idea what a fair price should be?

Plus DPF can become blocked with lots of shorts journeys, but as said with your warranty there is nothing to worry about really.

The car was first registered in May 13.

First A service in May 14 at 3456 miles
Second B service in December 15 at 10,455 miles
Third A service in September 16 at 13,723 miles

The time between the first an second service is greater than 12 months. Should that be a cause for concern?

7 months past due date for service would normally invalidate warranty but if they're putting 2 years on it shouldn't be a problem - It may affect any goodwill payment after the extended warranty expires though Confused Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!

If you have a vehicle serviced in accordance with guidelines and something fails not covered by warranty LR can offer a goodwill payment towards repair - happened with me on a clutch master cylinder where they paid half because it shouldn't of failed Thumbs Up Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Some here are over-thinking this IMO.

100 miles a week (average) is alright. Mine probably doesn't do much more.

It'll break anyway (as they do) so as long as it has the warranty, you'll be OK.

Of course you will pay more for a low mileage car. Get a 2005-2009 RRS (FAH500210) sat nav/dash mat here - the one that wasn't there when you bought the car.

Spiffing wheel centre caps available

I agree with Stuart. And you can put lots of miles on and it will be low to average miles
so your resale will be better too. 2 year warranty too- you can't go wrong
