Bird Strike!

Driving through Inverness yesterday, low speed (below 30mph) Seagull flew full tilt into car head on, hitting just above the windscreen and top of roof. Almighty crash and pulled over dreading the worse, dead Seagull and much damage to roof.
Amazed to see Seagull (initially stunned) get up and fly off and even more amazed zero damage to car, not a scratch! Surprised
Fully expected dints and scratches given that the roof seems to be made of much thinner metal than the rest of the car (flexes when cleaning). Washed an polished last night, just to check nothing hidden by dirt, still perfect and as new Smile

So, Seagull 0 - RRS 0, a surprising result and car obviously much better built than expected Smile Colin

I have hit a Galah on my Motorcycle . Collided with my helmet. I was quite young at the time and was heading home which is inland NSW. Thought I would really snot the bird. The impact was like being hit with a brick, and had it been direct would have knocked my head off. Although light birds can really make quite an impact especially when the impact velocity is high.
