Touch screen brightness/resolution.

Just 5 weeks in with Autobiography MY 16.5 (previously owned MY13 Dynamic).
The infotainment touchscreen is very dim, especially noticeable with the reversing camera image. Can't seem to find anything in settings to alter brightness? The camera image is definitely not as clear and bright as my previous model.
Is this a resolution issue or am I missing something?

Do you have dual view? If so, resolution is notably poorer.

The reversing camera should be infinitely better than your MY13.

Hi Gnasher,

I am going through the same issue with a MY16.5. The screen is so dark the cameras are unusable. I also specified tv which again is no use. I complained back in April and am still trying to get it resolved. The dealer eventually agreed there is a problem but getting JLR to actually resolve it is another matter. Appalling for a car of this value.

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Orkney Grey

Hi

We are now on our third RRS - and the latest (a MY16.5 autobiography) has a noticeably dimmer and harder to read screen. The screen has been replaced, but is no better. There was some mention of needing to replace the unit with one that works in a G chassis car, rather than an F chassis - which makes me think there was some change of specification for MY 16.5.

Anyone else finding their MY16.5 car to have a hard to read touch screen?

Current position from the dealer is that the car is within specification for the model year....

thanks!

I haven't got round to going to dealer as yet.
However I was in a Kia the other day, the touch screen and camera image was so noticeably better!

My parents have a MY 16.5 since last week and I can't say the touch screen is any less brighter than my MY10. When the sun is directly on the screen is't hardly readable, but that is probably true for any screen. In other conditions it's fine.

There seems to be no interest in either the dealer or Land Rover Customer Care resolving the problem. The screen brightness makes it frankly useless. It is dangerous using the sat-nav screen as it is so difficult to read, the only readable sat-nav function is the repeater image on the instrument panel. As for cameras, forget them. The display is so much worse than on my previous four Range Rover Sports and also far worse than on other vehicles at the dealers.

Having waited 6 weeks for the dealer to get a comparable vehicle to make a side by side comparison the dealer eventually came up with a 2015 vehicle to compare with my model 16.5. The dealer admitted there must be a fault with mine but still no action has been taken

Land Rover 'customer care!' has been involved but they seem to have no authority with the dealer and blame the dealer for not responding.

All in all it is frankly disgraceful to have to put up with a display that is so inferior to virtually any other vehicle on the road irrespective of price range.

Mac

It's upto the dealer to fix it.

Leave the car with them and get a loan car and don't accept it back until its fixed. If the service guys have seen the fault and admit it's a problem then I see no reason they will not fix it quickly and hassle free for you.
