Well got it back after an hour! Guy told me you've got a problem with your suspension. It was in terrain Lo mode when I got in.

It is absolutely fine to jack up just one wheel although best to make sure jack is in the correct place and has a soft pad like a hockey puck or similar. Putting the car in off road height means less jacking to do but it's not important. All that other stuff you can find on the internet about opening doors and windows and putting the hazards on is all nonsense.

Unfortunately Paddi as I mentioned it wasn't me it was the fitters. I couldn't get near to see how it was jacked up and the first thing the guy said to me when I got the keys back was.......there's a fault with your suspension. They had I believe tried to do a multitude of things with the suspension and terrain settings as the button was raised, the terrain was also in lo.

If they did that I'd be having serious words as it was the front offside they were changing and the compressor is on the nearside! |

I think they were trying to possibly put the car into access mode and lower it from standard height Andy. I'll just use my usual place next time. It was only becuase they didn't have the tyre I needed in stock but halfords did. I bet you and your guys don't take an hour a wheel? |

It take us on average to change all 4 on a 4x4 45minutes.If it took my lads a hour to change one then they would be looking for another job.

Is there any need to have the wheels balanced on car?

I would never use the large superstore . My nephew actually has young apprentice/mechanic that joined his indi garage, no bs they sprayed parts/cleaned them up (already on the car) with wd40 and charged customers for them . He did this practice (yes its illegal, he's not proud of it) but was forced by the shop manager to meet really tight monthly figures.

Unfortunately I had a puncture on the front offside and needed a tyre ASAP the spare has a completely different brand to the ones fitted and I'm anal about things like that. I was off work and as my local tyre fitter didn't have the tyre in stock Halfords were the nearest place with them in stock and an avalible space to fit them and I've got a long trip to make tomorrow morning. Plus when I last had a mobile fitter to fit new tyres to my Z4 with 19inch wheels they couldn't due to the size so no point in trying that route either. I wouldn't call the Michelin Latitude tyres 'cheap' but if someone can point me to somewhere you can get them for the price of cheap tyres then go ahead. I wouldn't dare trust them with anything else with the car. I'll either service myself or take to my local Indy who has serviced the car for the past 6 years. Halfords and Kwik-fit have their place, for me halfords has always been for some cleaning products and kwik-fit usually for tyres years ago but nothing else. To insinuate that just because people use their services even just to have a simple tyre change and/or have older cars and in turn insinuate they buy cheap tyres, can't afford to service or maintain such cars is actually quite rude. |

Been underneath, all good. No issues when I was out again. Checked for any fault codes on the IID to see if it threw anything yesterday and there was nothing. So all good |
