Poor acceleration and black smoke - fixes not worked

I have used the forum extensively for advice since purchasing my 07 2.7 TDV6 last November but have a current issue which remains unresolved. I have a loss of acceleration from stationery (0 to 2000rpm and then the turbo kicks in) and black smoke appearing when accelerating hard. Once it is going it runs fine just slow to accelerate from start.

Following advice from the posts I purchased and replaced all 3 intercooler hoses with silicone ones although whilst the small one didn't seem to be on too tight none were split. I also removed, cleaned and checked the intercooler radiator - again no holes or splits. It hasn't made any difference.

Since then I have fitted a new MAF sensor and cleaned the MAP sensor. No better.
I also fitted new EGR valves a couple of months ago.

I have now taken it into a garage for a full diagnostic and they can't find any issues and all operating as it should be (fuel pressure, all electrical sensors, etc). My last hope today was that the accelerator sensor might be faulty which they checked as well. No such luck. All working fine.

Please help. Don't know what to try next. Overall the engine runs fine. No misfires or erratic in any way.
Also hasn't been modified or remapped.

Have you checked the turbo?

Hi. Only in the sense that the garage has said it seems fine on the basis it kicks in at 2000rpm and there are no diagnostic codes registering om the car. Once the car is moving and has picked up speed it drives pretty much normal. Do you know of any other checks I can perform to tell if it is the turbo as obviously removing or replacing this is going to be expensive?

Just saw its black smoke so doesnt sound like turbo seals and is an air/ fuel issue. I'd check the EGR isnt clogged then go from there checking the fuel side of things.

Hi. Update on my problem.
Having reached the conclusion it must be the turbo, I booked the car in with BEST TURBO's in Birmingham (Unit 8, 56 Dudley Road East Oldbury). You can easily find their web site on the internet.
These guys were superb. Dropped the car off last Saturday. Just picked up today. Total cost for fitting a replacement turbo including a full service only £1,560 quid!!!!!! I am amazed at the price as as most of you will be aware getting to and replacing the turbo involves removing the whole body off the car. They have done a top job. The car drives like new and no black smoke. It turned out the actuator fins or veins were all coked up and apparently is a common problem on higher mileage RR's. The best bit though is that since buying the car last November the max MPG it ever recorded was 26mpg. On the drive home from Birmingham it increased to 31.3MPG and is still climbing.
I would recommend this company to anyone who has similar turbo problems.
