They should've fit,285/35r22's fit with room to spare,your only going 5mm wider on each side & 5% more on profile.

that's what I have on mine and I find the handle better

Hi, as per Mani, I'd go for 45 profile. Better ride & look better too in my opinion. I had 40 profile for a long time & won't go back now. I'd be a bit careful on width too...even 275 have a habit of pulling when hitting uneven standing water
