HI,

I have been driving myself mad as to why my battery is draining.
I know the batter is ok as i have had it tested, but every morning when i try to start it, it struggles and sometimes if it doesn't start quickly then it fails then the jump leads come out (not what you want when you want to get to work)

Having search forums etc and tried knocking everything off electric, I found that the bottled release button (rubber cover) is the fault. When you peel the rubber off the switch you will see all the corrosion/acid fall from the switch, if this happens then i am 99% sure that his was your problem.

I am so happy that i have not even had time to replace the switch yet i have just left the cover off angiven the contacts a little clean.

To the OP, well done - it's always nice to find an easy and cheap fix. You should have done some searching on here - the boot switch corrosion issue is fairly well known and documented.  2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

My battery drain problem turned out to be a faulty door lock. Not only was my RRS continually trying to activate the faulty lock but I had inadvertently been leaving the car unlocked.
On a similar tack I had been suffering lots of false fault messages, suspension, engine, hdc, seat belts. Battery in good nick and kept in a good state of charge. Found a slightly loose battery to chassis earth connection. tightened about half a turn and all problems gone. I just love my RRS despite the niggles.  past personal chariots
TVR S1, TVR Chimaera, Mercedes 500SL, all sadly missed but age demanded easier access.

Ok it seems that my boot release button wasn't the only problem!
My battery is still draining any other ideas people?
