Hi guys,
We have a 2012 RR sport and the boot will not open 90% of the time.
It attempts to open and acts like its caught on something. Watching it trying to open the right hand side juts out more than the left adn thing it pulls back in a bit.
Applying pressure to the boot makes it pull itself in but it still will not open.

Of 10% of the time it opens about half of this time it opens ok and rest it only opens a small bit but you can manually pull open the boot.
It closes normally using the button.

Any thoughts?

From new ours would occasionally not open. On mentioning it to the dealer at first service they said they did a hinge re-alignment and it has been fine for the past three and a half years.

Not sure if it's any help but on my TDV8 (2008) 90% of the time the tailgate does not release when the button is pushed. You can hear the electric lock undo but it's still seems to catch.
However a reasonably hard push down on the tailgate and its comes free.
I suspect a misaligned catch or hinges but as its not the end of the world I haven't investigated any further. Robin
