United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Autobiography Stornoway Grey
ipods

These things are a complete mystery to me so any help/advice most welcome.Mrs W has a 'shuffle' and has recently upgraded to a 'nano' which she was told would connect to a Sport via Bluetooth?
But think I've read on here that the way to go is to get a JLR usb connector which will charge the ipod via the usb port in the central armrest--think Mrs w. said both shuffle and nano worked ok but didn't charge when connected to the jack in the rear of the car.
Seen various connectors on Amazon and talked to Dan at Duckworths--the JLR connector is'expensive'-Dan suggested seeing if anyone on here has one to dispose of,I'm guessing some of you will have upgraded as I think later cars have a different system?
Our RRS is a 2010 5L s/c.

Any help much appreciated.

Hi Chris,

I've got a genuine Land Rover one of those if you're still after one? Came new with my car, but only used it a couple of times, as I've put music onto a USB stick now. It's for the 'older' the 30-pin type iPod, not the new fangled Lightning connector...
Yours for £35 incl the old P&P if you want?

cheers
Si

Thanks Si,just checking that this will fit.

Been on the Apple website so now really confused but have to take SWMBO to the Shopping Centre this pm so will call into the Apple store--think I might need a 'docking' thingumy.

Be back in touch soon.

Chris.

Hey Chris,

No worries, if your iPod has a connector that's about an inch long, then my cable will fit. If it's a diddy one about the size of a micro USB (that you charge most phones with) then it won't Wink

cheers
Si

Hi Guys,

Well looks like our Nano has the 'lightening' connector, about 6mmx1mm so back to the drawing board, although SWMBO has now decided she doesn't like it so back to J Lewis it'll go.

But thanks for all your help and advice, especially Si

Cheers

Chris

No worries, glad it's all getting sorted Wink

By the by, I bought a SanDisk Cruzer Fit 32Gb USB stick to put in my car. Really small so doesn't get in the way of anything and can be left plugged in...

PS What's up with the iPod? They are capable of blisteringly good sound- badly let down by those crappy tin-pot utter junk nasty offensive supplied 99p earphones. First thing to do is chuck those in the bin, don't even give them away, and buy some half decent ones that won't damage your hearing!
Spend £30-40 and you should be impressed, go up to around £80-100 or over and you'll be blown away! I work in a noisy environment most of the time, so use Bose QC20i noise cancelling earphones. Expensive, but I'd be deaf without them! Wear them most days for between 6 and 10 hours, really comfy. For normal use, I'd recommend any of their other 'phones. Other makes are available Wink

Here endeth the lesson
