I want to replace the radio with a double din unit but want to keep the navigation top screen, first my system is not the Logic 7 system, the new Radio must have the hdmi on the front so i can run the Sygic GPS navigation software instead of the crap GPS factory stuff, i have found via this forum somewhere there is a company that do plug and plug hardware with no cutting of wires necessary if fitting say a Pioneer or JVC ect, also i know you have to fit the fitting kit as well, if anyone had done this what make on Radio did you fit and was it plug and play, RRS 2009 2.7d S model

If your car has the older OE system (not sure as yours is 2009?), then this is something I did last week.

I purchased the InCarTec RRS specific Kit for an RRS, together with an Alpine ILX-700 (its 007 in US I believe). It doesn't have an HDMI on the front or rear, only a Video in for a Reverse Camera and an Aux Video in for something like a DVB-T or another camera and that comes in the form of a 3.5mm jack. So you could get a converter of some sort? The other thing to note is that the replacement fascia doesn't fit tight to the heater controls below, so there is a gap (though not noticeable). In my case, that is perfect for feeding the USB Lightning lead through for my iPhone, so could be also for rear accessed HDMI sockets.

Kit comes with all the stuff needed for the conversion, including some slightly confusing instructions. Hopefully they've edited them now as I queried and pointed out the issues. However, its all plug and play. The worst part (for me) was finding an ignition feed but I eventually did this by accessing the cigarette lighter wire through the "inspection hole" under the cup-holders. Didn't cut the wire but used a scotch block connector to jump on the feed.

Things to note:
You need only one of the amplifier bypass sockets at each end and leave the power in to your existing amp.
Likewise you don't need the speaker connector of the InCarTec HU bypass wiring.
You will have to do a bit of judicious filing and cutting with a sharp knife at the bottom corners of the new fascia to get it to fit perfectly - not too much, just a mm or so in places. You will see when you do it.

It took about 10 mins to dismantle the existing stereo to get the controller out. It took 15 mins to ease out the existing stereo so that I didn't have to dismantle the central console!

Another recommended device is the Pioneer SPH-DA120, which does have an HDMI in, which as mentioned above would be OK due to the gap in the fascia.

Thanks Pufftmw this is the unit i am looking to buy or similar which has front USB input and Android http://r.ebay.com/1Rfj4l, the only problem with this unit is i think made in China so may have issues with the wiring and meaning cutting wires so wont be plug and play unless someone can correct me on that, Still looking at quite a few double din radios on Ebay, What members reading this post can do is go on www.trademe.co.nz and enter Double din radio in the search box and see if there is anything suitable on there, Cheers
