Thanks folks, your thoughts are much appreciated.
I've found this one which is more of a brave colour for me, but I like it - https://www.petervardy.com/item/16108/LAND...ESEL.html#
And as suggested above it is a main stealer and Land Rover approved.
A HUGE problem for me is where I live - Orkney - as in trying to find one, test drive, look at others etc. as it get's very expensive in travelling, aswell as I work abroad more than half the year so home time is precious. Is it stupid to think I could trust a dealer, as above, and buy blind - of course making the final inspection/purchase on collection? I know the RRS is what I want, it's just whether it's a good one - but who can tell anyway? Surely a Land Rover approved with 2 year warranty is as safe a purchase as I'll get...trying to kid myself now maybe?
Internal toys like headrest tv's wouldn't sway me as all kids nowadays have iPads/tablets etc. anyway. They'd just fight over what to watch (I have 3 under 10).
I would love a petrol s/c but I'm wondering if I should get shot of my frugal XF and have this as our 'car' and keep my old RR as my towing tractor/trip to the beach/messy car and it already only does 15mpg on a good day. I originally started looking at older RRS to replace my old RR which is the petrol 4.6 V8 (lovely sound which I'll miss greatly...thankfully I have a friend with shed where I can hide it from my wife, just tell her it's gone...).
On the thought of petrol/diesel, do these 2012 / 13 models have bother with the DPF filter? Due to recent villiage speed restrictions on Orkney I cannot drive any speed for any duration to clean out the filter (even driving round and round!) - maybe ammo for a petrol?
