SRS Airbag light Codes - Cant clear B00D5 B1A00 B1D74 B00DF

Hi can anyone help me

Ive tried to have the SRS light reset with iCarsoft LR11 and also Delphi Autocom (I think its called) aswell as an AUTEL Maxdiag MD802 but they all say they FAIL to communicate or erase the code.

Codes shown:
B00D5 PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF INDICATOR - PENDING ,
B1A00 CONTROL MODULE - INTERMITTENT
B1D74 PASSENGER AIRBAG CUT OFF ENABLE SWITCH - PENDING
B1D75 PASSENGER AIRBAG DISABLE SWITCH - PENDING
B00DF SWITCH TO DISABLE PASSENGER AIRBAG - PERMANENT

I basically turned off the passenger airbag switch and after this have seen the light on.

Prior to this I had the stereo out and removed the whole dash down to the gear shift area. I have checked all has been refitted correctly. I also had my steering wheel off to check airbag connections in the squib but they are fine.

I have changed the passenger airbag switch

Please help! Im hoping someone will say it just needs a better diagnostic tool to reset it Shocked

How did this start ?

Does the yellow airbag light on the switch panel come on when you turn the ignition on ?

Hi
Not sure if my details are listed but my car is the RRS 2005 4.2 SC.

I get the red airbag light on after the car does its system check and it 'bings' to inform me that its on Sad

The switch itself doesnt have an LED indicator - and its got a VOLVO sign on the back Rolling Eyes

It started as I turned the passneger airbag switch off (you know, the switch on the LHS of the dash as you open the front door, for child seats etc) it could also possible have come from wire damage around the stereo area but not sure, this all happened at the same time Whistle

There is a switch panel in the center of the dash.

DSC, Parking PDC, Hazzrds, Lock Unlock (and some others on your SC)

On the far right, a yellow airbag light x2 should come on when the passenger airbag is turned off.
It should also come on with the ignition briefly.

If this bulb goes, this alown can cause a red dash light to come on.
or this could be off due to your damaged wire (although it's green wires)

So that can cause B00D5 PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF INDICATOR - PENDING.

If the key switch had been replaced, that could have caused the other 3

Hi thanks for the info I went out in the middle of the night after reading your post around 3 am and checked - the orange light on the switch pack you mention does come on when you turn on the ignition then goes off and straight after that the red airbag light comes on and stays on.

I tried switching the switch several times but no joy.
As for that wire I'm certain it can't be related as the switch still gets its live power as tested on multimeter but always good to mention any work that was done around that time... you never know...

But in my case surely it's plain and simple as the diagnostic says... The switch is still at fault ? or maybe the machines used are not hood enough to clear this code ?

The codes aren't being cleared.

But now you know that orange light should come on when p bag disabled you can check to see if the switch is working now.

Do you have the rest of the fault code as there are two digits missing from the end of each one e.g. B00D5-55 also if you changed the switch and have Code B00DF-?? you may have to have it calibrated. See below

B00DF-00
Passenger Restraints
Disable Switch - No sub
type information
Passenger airbag
deactivation switch stuck
Passenger airbag
deactivation switch
internal failure
Install a new passenger airbag deactivation switch as necessary

B00DF-54
Passenger Restraints
Disable Switch - Missing
calibration
Passenger airbag
deactivation switch
missing calibration
Calibrate the passenger airbag deactivation switch using the manufacturer approved diagnostic system

Cheers

Hi

Thank you very much for the informative response,

I turned the switch to AIRBAG OFF and the orange light stays on to confirm that has been done. The red airbag light stays on.

All 3 of the tools used to read the codes have the same codes but no extra two digits after the B00DF etc? Neutral

The Autel has stopped worked for some reason but still have access to the Delpi and the icarsoft.

Would you happen to know what tool could be used to re calibrate it?

I also wondered if there was any way to join the airbag switch wires to create a circuit to confirm it is working for the ON feature? I did get power from both coloured wires when checked on the multimeter.

Thanks in advance

Those codes are incomplete you need the other two digits to narrow the fault down, as each of those you listed has at least three codes prefixed buy the first part of the code you listed. I think you may need a Good Indi or Main Stealer to re-calibrate the switch.

Cheers

If Cheaper or non specific code readers are used, they don't really help when reading codes on the RRS I've found, the IID or IID BT tool are excellent, and do give all the digits on codes found. Not sure of some of the garage equipment, but the Snap on doesn't give good results and that's hardly cheap. John

Hi

Is there any specific software I should ask after when looking for a place to get this coded ?

Also would anyone be able to recommend a place in London or essex m25 that I could get this sorted?

thanks in advance

Update on this , not successfull as yet

I had this checked with Autologic at an independant specialist (LRR in London SE7 who were very nice and helpful) and they say they are reading the same codes as all of the other diagnostic tools.

The only thing they can suggest is a break in a wire somewhere or the Airbag ECU may have a fault and could attempt to replace this. Sounds perfectly logical.

Has anyone had experience in replacing the airbag ECU? for example did you buy a new or used part & did it require coding?
