If it fails and locks the front wheels you'll heading straight to the scene of the accident! A new diff is pricey and is a bit of work to replace I think. The bearings can be replaced but you need to remove the diff to do it (I guess). Either way it's not going to be a two hundred quid job. As mentioned, change the oil and see what's on the plug. Lots of swarf might point to more work required. Don't forget to remove/loosen the filler plug before removing the drain plug just in case it's seized. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |
