People ordering cars for september what model year is yours?

Ive just ordered and got my build sheet for my October car on a 66plate.

A question for others who have ordered for September onwards what model year have you got as my build sheet says MY16.5

What does yours say ?

Hi

I've just ordered mine (Autobiography Dynamic Sport + a load of extras) and have the same 16.5 for a 23rd Sep arrival at the dealer.

They are constantly checking for me and I'll take a delayed build date if its not too long a wait. 100% they do not know a date as they have a number of people in the same boat.

So its sit tight and see what happens next. My build date is end of August so have time to decide.

Alex

wow really? Tonbridge that were Harwoods and now Lancaster say categorically its not known yet. Interesting !

This was the 8th of June

"I did receive a reply from Land Rover yesterday but I was not in, so only read it today. The email reads, The product team have not yet released details of when the 2017 model year will go into production. Production details will be released once a decision has been made.
This unfortunately means that I can’t give you a precise answer. However I will constantly monitor the situation for you. Other salesmen are in the exact same situation with their customers, so the minute any information becomes available I will pass it on.

I look forward to speaking to you soon
Kind regards"

Then 23rd June

"I thought I would email you today as I am off on holiday at the end of the week and do not return until 15th July. We have still not heard anything from Land Rover about any changes to the Range Rover sport or when the 2017 model year will go into production.
I will on my return contact you again after checking if anything has changed. Obviously while I am away please feel free to contact the showroom at any time should you have any questions.
I look forward to speaking to you on my return."

I'm told the same as you alexa111s that it is not known yet and cars ordered for September or even later like mine at the end of October are going to be 16.5

I didn't totally accept this which is why I asked on here.

I have to lock my spec in by this Thursday the 30th so I don't have any time to delay and wait I don't think if my17 build dates are given out next week that I can argue for a delay as once your final change date passes you are stuck.

Hi

I don't think this is stacking up. Especially the "order it within 2 days" comment. From the moment they switch over the MY17 all cars will be made to that spec.

I really do believe my dealer as it makes sense. There's nothing written about it formally anywhere.

Hope they are wrong !! But I suspect all these orders for Sep are my16.5 - also the date to log in the spec for a car in SEP would be mid August.

I'll try Lancaster again today to see of anything has changed !

Should be next to the model.

Or are you looking at a dealer order form which looks like an invoice ? The build sheet is around 3 pages with all the spec and options with build date last order change dates and loads and loads of details which don't mean much to most of us.

I'll try to add a picture shortly of mine.

Dealer should have given it to you when you paid your deposit for your order.

It's the only way of really knowing the full details such as build date from the factory.

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Regarding MY build dates, it used to be that the next model year would start build in the 1st or 2nd week of August, after the annual factory down period for maintenance in July. It then takes approximately 2 weeks from build to go through final QC and get to the dealership. Don't forget that we are now entering a period for dealers where new sales are very thin on the ground as people go on holiday and have other things to spend large amounts of money on, they will tell you anything to get a sale. Is it imperative that you have a new car for September, the dealer's nightmare month for deliveries? Why not delay the order for a couple of months and then go for a late October/ early November delivery which will ensure a 2017MY before there is loads of speculation about what will come with 2017.5MY or 2018MY.......................

BTW has anyone heard about the possibility of fog lights becoming an optional extra on 2017MY? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW
