New HSE order....spec dilema

Hi, first post on this forum although I am a member on the defender and full fat forums as I have owned both in the past.

Just placed an order for HSE with Hatfields in Liverpool, have to say they were very accommodating in what they could offer but would be interested to hear what other people's experience is of them.

I have around two weeks to decide on final spec but I'm torn between

Option 1
Fuji White, contract Santorini roof, black wheels, grilles and side vents with ebony/ebony interior

Option 2
Carpathian Grey, Pano roof with cirrus/ebony interior

Option 3
Barolo Black, Pano roof with ivory/ebony

They all look really nice and its so hard to decide....any thoughts

I like light colours, so guess which I would prefer? MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

3, 2, 1 for me. In fact, 3 or 2 as I'm not too keen on white cars although when I do see your option 1 combo on the road, I think it looks great. From a resale value perspective, are white cars a passing fashion taste?

I don't think large cars look good in white because of them looking van-like (or like a giant refrigerator) which sends the wrong message. And black wheels for me are just a No No No. I don't think they age well and make the wheel arches look unfilled, i.e. empty, in an attempt to upstage the rest of the car (i.e. upstage the good bit!)

By way of comparison, a Porsche 911 in white is ok in my book, as is a Ford Focus in white.

Carpathian Grey is a safe option; it always looks good, hides the dirt etc. And it suits the RRS extremely well. Black leather is easier to maintain, or did you mean cirrus seats?

Barolo Black is an acquired taste. It often looks like it is simply black, but it isn't. There's something appealing about the plummy tinge and implies it's "a bit special". Clearly ivory leather is prone to staining from blue jeans and the like, but can look so amazing next to dark paint.

So for me, I would probably go:

2
3
1 (I would rather substitute #1 for Aruba with Espresso / Almond, or even Indus Silver - anything but white!) L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso
RRS TDV6 HSE Lux (MY2011)... Nara Bronze / Arabica - now gone!

ilard I totally agree about the black wheels, they always look smaller than what they are & that's why I went for the Hawke alloys in silver & black as the do look like the 22's they are.

Go for the ebony/ebony if there is any chance of it getting used . Not a big fan of light coloured interiors .
Black will show every mark , go for the white or grey with a dark interior.

Thanks for all the advice and pictures, I actually spoke to the sales guy about the white and he mentioned about wondering when the white/black combo fashion was going to crash but it hasn't yet. I personally like the black wheel look on the white car.

Interesting points about the interior colours though, I really like the light contrast against the dark exteriors (I did mean cirrus seats in the grey) but guess they can get dirty pretty easy especially with two kids, although I work from home so its likely to do less than 7K a year and the plan is to swap it at 3 Years.

Have to go and have another look at the in person...

If you don't want to go as dark as all ebony on the interior but not as light as cirrus have you thought about a Lunar interior? I have a Corris exterior with Ebony/Lunar interior

Finalised order, went for option 2

Carpathian grey/ Ebony/Cirrus interior
Pano roof, Privacy Glass

Dealer has said it will be MY17 car (although I'm not sure how that works) and delivery is scheduled for 16th September.

Did you ask the dealer if your MY17 order will include the midcycle facelift that includes the rumored Incontrol Touch Pro which won't be announced until the last quarter of the year?

I did ask about any changes and he said whatever the online configurator is showing that will be the spec as that is live but then also added that the upgrade to the infotainment was be rolled out to Evoque and the Discovery Sport but couldn't say for certain if it would be on the MY17 RRS, I asked him if he would check and he said he would try and find out.

In my opinion your fugi White is a good choice with contrasting black and I personally think ebony all round in the interior is the best option Very Happy Range Rover Sport HSE TDV8 MY2010

Really like the Fuji/Black combo but the grey just edged it, it's amazing how much time you can "waste" pontificating about the colour - it drove the wife bonkers, the problem is there are so many combinations that look so nice!!! It was the picture on page 85 in the RRS brochure that finally convinced me.
