I agree with this, but it's the same in the FF L405. Might be slightly larger, but same issue of a third of it being compromised as not flat. |

Go s/c for sure. I'm 37 too with three kids but the RRS is not the primary family hauler. I only fit two kids in at a time but it works as only two are school aged. They call my RRS a roller coaster when I accelerate from the red lights .

When I was driving L320 I always thought if I ever have to choose between L494 and L405, the latter will win, no contest. Having driven both cars a few times, as nice and superior (in many ways) L405 is, I couldn't bring myself to lose the dynamic capabilities that L320 offered and L494 took to a whole new level. Ended up speccing an L494 to a price that could have comfortably bought a decent L405.

Other things to take into account in the UK are the rumoured forthcoming additional environmental taxes on Diesel engined cars and also if you are doing a lot of stop start commuter drives and few fast roads then the DPF not getting to regenerate in the right conditions might also be an issue for you. These considerations will apply whether you go for the L494 or the L405 but worth considering in the petrol versus diesel quandary. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
