Yet another problem.... squeaking/ creaking from n/s front

Just I seem to get everything else sorted yet another issue has arisen Sad

I have a 2012 RRS Overfinch 3.0 SDV6. 43k miles.

The problem that now appears to have developed is that when at higher speeds there is a very prominent squeak/ creak coming from the nearside front of the vehicle when in the cabin. It appears to be worse on certain roads, for instance on the M1 today it was terrible. At slow speeds it isn't noticeable.

I literally dumped everything out of the car and have look at all the interior trim etc and can't see where it could be coming from. I've also tried opening the window and listening but this didn't offer any further help to me.

Does anyone have any ideas what this could be? It's so infuriating.

Thank you
Sean

check the trim on the outside bottom of the drivers door. if its slightly loose or not fully in place it gives an infuriatingnsqueking noise at speed

i had this on mine and just pushing it back in place cured it, well actually i just gave it a little bash with my hand. mine still loosens off again though, but its in warranty and should be sorted by LR

You sir may well have nailed it. Have been outside and checked the trim and it's loose and a light press causes a squeak. Have spoken to Overfinch and they've asked me to bring the car to them so they can refit the kit free of charge, which is great since it's out of Overfinch warranty.

I'll get the car to them tomorrow morning and hopefully it'll be all good.

thb drove me and my wife (she drives it most) mad as hell until I worked it out.

Eventually discovered root cause when I open the door against the stops and it squeaked. I then replicated it every time.

Looked at trim and compared it with other side and there was actually a small gap in drivers door fitting compared to the other side.

Bashed it back on and all stopped, but it still comes loose so a clip is probably needing replaced, but I'm in for MAF filter change on Friday so it'll get sorted then.

Glad to help on my first post on the forum !!

Took the car to Overfinch today and they've re-bonded and re-clipped the trim, thus solving the squeaking problem free of charge.

All in all very impressed with their customer service and they have a fantastic office in Leeds.
