So how do I know my lights are on?

Hi

OK, I have a 2005 RRS HSE 2.7 TDV6. There appears to be no lamp on the instrument pack that tells me my lights are on. Is that right?

Some pics I've seen, and also my FL2, had a lighs-on light to the left of the LCD display. The manual for mine shows a car symbol with 3 vertical lines going through it. I can't see the actual symbol on the car as it has never lit up.

Thanks.

Unfornuatly not Rolling Eyes

You have to squint at the needles and note the LCD backlight is dimmer to know the lights are on. Laughing

The symbol you mention is for the FBH which they decided not to bother to use anyway Censored

Haha, that's exactly what I've been doing to try and work it out anyway Smile

Glad in a way it's not a duff instrument bulb as I just looked at a video on how to dismantle the instrument pack and that looked a 'mare.

Thanks for the speedy reply.

Rolling with laughter

I can always see where I'm going .... the light from my iPhone whilst I'm texting is enough to light my way.

Just to be clear, I AM joking about texting and driving... Thumbs Up

The only problem is that the automatic lights don't really come on very early.

I agree. I had an FL2 for about a month prior to the RRS and have found that the FL2 auto lights were much more tuned in my opinion.

You can have the software updated to put the light on, on the dash, also the 3 flash indicators. Think you can also get the sat nav so you programme on the move.. 2008 G4 RRSport TDV8 current

Interesting. I'll have to try programming with my IDD soon and be brave.

Although I have a red light !

Be nice if the fbh turned the ted light on.

3 flash indicators would be great. Miss that from the FL2

Apologies, don't understand what you mean about the Sat Nav.

There was a chap on the FL2 forum who did a flash for the instrument pack that added realtime fuel usage and a clock on the LCD. Wonder if that's possible too.

In early RRS you could not input destination info on the move, there was also a disclaimer that had to be acknowledged before you could do anything! After 2007 there were several updates to the system that meant that you could input destinations on the move and a couple of other things. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
