All diesel fuel tanks are now smaller to give way to space for the ad blue tank |

Rather carry more fuel, far better idea and logic. John

They have made them more economical so you don't need such a large tank................

Lot of rumbling on discosportforum about this - owners of pre adblue have bigger tank and range but newer have smaller tank and range because the mpg has dropped not increased and the adblue consumption is double the claimed Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW Still hoping for a S2 one day! |

Oh my, similar posts have also appeared on BabyRR today regarding AdBlue consumption and reduced range because of the smaller fuel tank! Also complaints that compared to the 2.2SD4 motor the 2.0 Igenium is a poor performer and feels strained and is noisier at anything over "cruising" RPM. Whilst Evoque is hardly a sports car, owners who have had 2016MY loaners with the higher output Ingenium engine say that after a few days with the loaner they really appreciated the extra oomph of the old 2.2ltr engine when they got their non-Ingenium engined car back. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

The way the environmental wind is blowing, JLR will soon be offering petrol engines across the range. All the AdBlue tinkering will come to nought.

Have owned 2.2 FL2s and had Evoque 2.2 loaner for extended period but the 2.0 is far more refined and quieter imho

How many sold maybe irrelevant it was primarily introduced ( well in part ) because of legislation about all car producers lowering emissions across their ranges by certain percentages, the introduction of hybrid was a huge step, given where JLR emissions were previously.

A big part of my decision to buy the DS was the adblue system claim of 53 mpg, lower emissions and lower RFL

I assume my SVR has the 105 litre tank but the fuel gauge is very pessimistic so than even when the remaining range is zero, I can only put about 90 litres in it. Mark

Well I manged to get 87 litres into mine the last fill, and still had 150 k's range so at least 12 litres left in the tank on this basis alone. I believe my Aussie SVD 8 is 105 litres. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW. |

I'm not 100% sure of this but I have read somewhere on the forum that the discrepancy is because of the design of the fuel tank which on diesel cars has a "well" in it that the fuel pump sits in which ensures that it cannot be run dry and is also shaped so that it will not draw air even at severe off-road angles with a near "empty" tank. The fuel gauge is calibrated to show empty when there is still 5-10 litres of fuel left in the tank to ensure there is always fuel in the well. As I say I don't know how true this is. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
