You are more at risk from key blocking whereby a thief deploys a device such as a remote control bell push which broadcasts on the same frequency as your keys.... Hence you think you've locked your car but in fact the key signal was blocked and the vehicle has actually been left open. Always watch your mirrors fold in when locking and preferably lock the car via pushing the buttons on the door handle rather than locking it via remote!

If I may also add, always press the door button twice so the dead locks come into action, can be done by fob to,
but I find it's easier to use door handle button and Hold it to close all the open windows too. Smile John

And DON'T use the fob, only for door touch button. The Fob can be snooped.

Cheers guys, all good tips!

I thought the same re the jamming and maybe someone works for BT etc, however at 3:12 AM it would appear not as likely.

That being said, the car has been safe with no further issues. The CCTV is up which is good.

I truly believe that there was some scare mongering from the police, thats fine - at the end of the day its only a car and one cannot get too het up worrying if it will be there in the morning, if its gone, its gone.

Fingers crossed that doesn't happen, but if it does, I have GAP so apart from being a royal PITA it won't be catastrophic.

Thanks again for the advice guys, and as I said, even if it was a false alarm, it was a wake up call Smile

**Edit** I always double lock and wait for the beep, I am immature like that - I like the beep Laughing 2014.5 Mariana Black 5.0 Supercharged V8 Autobiography

When you or family use the car make sure never to just throw the fobs into a bowl in the hallway, especially not if you have a table that can be reached by fishing rod from the letter box................. I now hide all my keys (not just the RRS keys) in a proper lockable key box that is well out of sight but also easy for me to get at in a hurry if needed. I always worked on my Defender being more stealable and desirable to thieves than my RRS, but these days it appears that it isn't! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

.................. Doubt that an L494 would be worth that much after it has been stolen!
