Leaky sunroof

Evening all,

My sunroof has been leaking from the rear and I'm guessing it's just a worn seal as the rubber looks quite tired. Does anyone know if you can just buy the rubber trim? I've had a look around but no luck so far.

Cheers guys[/b]

Ah I apologise, I thought I had.

It's a 2006 supercharged.

Probably best to order seals from your Land Rover dealership or better still site sponsor Duckworth parts. Call Dan and give him your VIN number to ensure you are supplied with the correct parts.

But make sure you don't just have blocked sunroof drains first - have a look at this TSB in my gallery:

I'm unsure if a blocked drain is the issue.

I noticed it when going through a car wash, water was streaming through the rear of the glass. Yes it was fully closed..

If it is not a blocked drain - which seems to be a very common problem; then the outer seal may have shrunk with age.

The outer seal when working correctly reduces the ingress of water to a rate at which the drains can cope with. If the seal has shrunk then the rate of ingress overwhelms the drains and the channel around the roof aperture fills up and overflows into the cabin. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

And I can order the outer seal by itself?

Can't be sure but I seem to remember posts on range rovers.net by people who did it.

Sunroofs are a fairly generic construction - I changed the outer seal on a Porsche sunroof and it took about 15 minutes. Just pull out the old one and push in the new.

Might be worth a call to a company like the famous Woolies Trim to see if they sell it by the metre?
