Couple of easy Questions.

Hi Lads hope you don't mind a couple of easy questions.

Firstly can the Fan belt be replaced on 2.7tdv6 without removing the fan ,ie only removing Cowlings.

Secondly can anyone recommend an EGR blanking kit they have been happy with (want to keep all pipes in place).

Off next week so looking to do these jobs plus a Service and handbrake shoe re-adjustment.

Just another query I have always used Original Land Rover Filters etc. Does anyone think there are any Aftermaket ones that are just as good, and any recommendations who to buy from, Land Rover or Aftermarket.

Cheers Jock Thumbs Up

I guess I must be able to replace the belt without fan removal. But wouldn't you want it done at the time of cam belt change?

You can get 4 filters on eBay for £21 (2 suppliers) which is very good value and would recommend.
Oil,air,fuel,cabin.

Re Couple of easy questions

Hi Andy thanks for the reply, I am in between my first and second cambelt change but noticed today that the Fanbelt is quite badly cracked so thought I would just change it out.

Will check out the Filters, what make were they ?

Cheers Jock Thumbs Up

1) Yes, but it's a PITA

2) I use stainless plates. Should have said, I could have given you a pair away with you Mad

3) I always use OEM filters when servicing. Around half the price of genuine parts, but all made by the same manufacturer Thumbs Up
Saves you paying the Land Rover tax, if you will Laughing

Personally after reading about failed engines due to poor quality oil filters I would only use gen oil filters as for the rest your choice but don't use britpart fuel filters had a few problems with those before today.. 2008 G4 RRSport TDV8 current
2009 TDCi 90 current
2018 Discovery 5 HSE lux current
1994 Dakar current

Mahle air + oil filters, Delhi fuel filter are OEM. Pollen filter is a pollen filter, so cheaper the better. And get a new sump plug too Thumbs Up

Keep a full set of filters on the shelf, and still have around 800 EGR blanking plates Laughing
