Moving from Audi A6

Hi there Smile

I'm currently an a6 tdi Quattro avant driver, but with a growing family, 3 kids from teen to 5 my avant is a bit squashed with kids seats for all three of them in the back.

I'm toying with the idea of a rrs, though want a facelift 2009 or better.

My dad had Range Rovers and lightweights when I was a kid and I've always loved them, even had a classic myself years ago Smile

To be fair I'm looking at around a 18-20k budget but notice the sdv6 is around 23k.

Is it worth waiting to see if they come into budget or is there not enough difference to bother?

Also I can't find any pdf sales info for the model years to see what standard gear they had, I have quite a lot of gadgets on the Audi, not sure what kit the rrs has?

Cheers

I believe the main difference between the 3.0 TDV6 and SDV6 is the gearbox. The SD has the 8 speed ZF box.
I doubt you'll get an SDV6 for under 20k as this is from 2012 I believe.

Welcome. Smile

The 8-speed SDV6 is well worth going for if you can get it, but be careful not to buy a lemon just because it's cheap. The others are still good anyway, so don't end up holding off forever. Good luck with the search. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Regarding rear seat space................... So a child seat and booster cushion and a Teenager............. That is going to be a tight squeeze on the rear bench of an RRS, a late plate Disco 4 HSE LKuxury with standard 7 seats might be a better purchase for the kids especially as they are in run out mode for the new Disco 5 so good deals are to be had. Same SDv6 engine and 8speed ZF gearbox as RRS but soooooooooo much more room and very very comfortable. They appear huge on the road from the outside but visibility out is excellent and they are easy to park and manoeuvre in town, and you get one of the most versatile cars on the road, just doesn't look as nice as an RRS................. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Only one needs the car seat, so more in need of leg room.

Is the measurements of the rear bench available online? I can't find anything for the width etc.

We've just moved from a 2009 a6 avant due to space requirements. 3 Labradors plus 2 year old. Loved the a6 dearly especially after its remap. Had sport a weekend love it, perfect size for our needs. Just got a restricted performance fault that's plaguing it at the moment. The garage will sort it out though!

Disco 4 was my first though, but the price difference and looks I much prefer the rrs, though 7 seats was the main draw though they would rarely be used.

Will wonder upto Stratstone stourbridge to see how big they are in the back, my wife's b class merc has better seating than my A6.
