Bonnet lettering

Hi all - quick question. Has anyone had any bother applying bonnet lettering to their RRS? Had a full machine polish done and then the UV damaged titanium ones replaced with satin black that I'd bought from the LR Centre.

Problem is, they've gone on all wonky, so I've had them taken off.

Any thoughts/suggestions appreciated. The chaps that did the polish insist they used the spacing and tempting but it really, really doesn't look right and they blamed it on them not being OEM.

BS.
I've replaced mine. They came with a template for each word separately and precise description of the distance from the lower bonnet edge to baseline and bonnet creases to left and right "R". Your letters are OEM sized and should be perfect but look like they were installed by a drunk in a dark garage. Regards etc.,

Thanks guys - yeah that's what I thought. I was going to do it myself, but like I said it had a full machine polish so I figured the bodywork guy would be a dap hand.

I'll have a look at the ones from PowerfulUK as I'd like to replace the interior bulbs with LEDs anyway so can order in one go.

Thumbs Up

If they've twisted like that after the bonnet was polished they I would suggest that the surface wasnt prepared properly when the letters were applied.

It's actually best to apply the letters (or any adhesive) when the surfaces are warm, this allows for a much better bond. The trick is maintaining the heat for a few hours while the glue sets, so either get some heaters in your garage or if you don't have a garage get friendly with someone who does haha.

Wow that's shocking. I had mine replaced by the guys who detailed the car no problems, they took photos and measurements of old ones before removing and new ones spot on so it can be done, they were on a template for each word Nanocom Evo

That looks like they were possibly designed for the tailgate or a different model Rangey? There's a different curve to them as the two separate words Range & Rover seem to individually curve downwards. The fitters may have used the supplied template, but it wasn't the correct one for the front of a Sport.
You might want to check with the suppliers they supplied the correct ones. I'm in the shed, I'll be back in the real world in a minute.

Aside from the being on the wonk, the gap between the two words is missing. So it's all very, very wrong! Good luck with getting it corrected. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso
RRS TDV6 HSE Lux (MY2011)... Nara Bronze / Arabica - now gone!

Have to agree with Russben, reckon they used a Tailgate Template on the Bonnet.

Cheers

Same here. Found out the difference while ordering.

Tail gate needs straight template as the bonnet needs a curved one.
