Ok - just made pouch for the key with kitchen foil and couldn't open the doors - then put key in small cake tin and tried again and still couldn't open vehicle Cool

So looks like keys in a tin from now on at home - a locked metal key safe at home should work too Thumbs Up

I'm still tempted to get the fobgaurd for my pocket even with the slight inconvenience of removing to open door and start engine Confused Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

I think I'd let them have it, heaven forbid that I am away on business and someone terrorises my wife trying to get the keys.... 2014.5 Mariana Black 5.0 Supercharged V8 Autobiography

Fair point Thumbs Up

If they really want it they will go to any length but hopefully most will be looking for an easy target and quick getaway Sad

Besides my DS is a lot less attractive than an SVR RRS Wink Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Wales 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Lux Sumatra Black

I've always used my old film protection bags, (Silver, lead lined bags/envelopes with other mixtures in various 'A' sizes) which use to be made to protect your films from damage through scanners and X-ray machines etc at airports.
I was messing around with one of these, as I still use them to keep my SD cards in (well you never know) and put my car fob in the bag to keep all together, and couldn't get into my car whilst standing next to it. I then started trying this after a report of what can happen to these fobs some time back, before fully released, and now always keep mine in these envelopes in office, at home, in bed or generally anywhere except when driving, Very Happy , more so in hotels and especially in places like Premier Inn UK car parks. If fob left in bag, even inside car with you, the car won't start.
I'm not sure if they are still available generally, but they are still available from Professional Photographic suppliers, slightly redesigned now due to different strengths and degrees of measurements of X-Ray's at airports now, but they were reasonably cheap, made with a mixture of lead and some other <<stuff>> in the lining. Certainly protected our films on jobs or working q abroad, many Pro Photographers use to have and use them, many still do, as film isn't completely dead, and digital cards can get erased at airports with strong fields etc. Wink John
