I'm very surprised he got into that trouble, I pull cars off the beach when the fast incoming tide comes in catching people out, and of course keeping an eye on the tide tables and the maximum depth I can use my RRS in and not had a problem "yet" The various settings for 4x4 Sand etc if used correctly even on wet, or dry soft sinking sand haven't caused any problems. Generally the wet sand is easier. It's surprising how many cars/vans get caught each summer and plenty of warning notices. Needs a good wash to remove salt off of afterwards. Good of him to try and help, but something not normal must have caused the FFRR problems, perhaps being a older model might not have quite the same facilities? John

I wouldn't mind betting that they forgot that they had a low range gear box and terrain response...............

Or more like a lack of recovery strops, equipment and shackles between the 2 Land Rovers! To fail to plan is to plan to fail |

I've been on the Defender Forum and seen what they write about RR and RRS drivers - I reckon he sat watching while he wet himself laughing and posted the pics on Defender2 |

Most Defenders get as much use off road as the typical RRS these days I.e. none! They're mid-life crisis toys; a 4x4 Harley-Davidson if you will. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
