Sounds like the start of EAS compressor failure it's located just in front of the near side rear wheel under the body - from start up get someone to lower - raise the suspension from within the cab. A good indicator is a noisy compressor if it struggles to raise quietly it will need more investigation but seems likely to be the cause of your issue.

Its a DIY job and some good how to guides on Disco 3 forum (same car essentially)....I'm no expert but from my reading its best to get a new one fitted and not try and repair yours.

I have the early type compressor on mine, which had the same issues that you are having. I bought the service kit, and replaced the pump piston ring etc. It's run faultlessly ever since.

DYI. I am planning to do it tomorrow on mine. Bought this kit: https://x8r.co.uk/land-rover-discovery-3-4...d-cap.html (has both all the seals and drier silicone, as well as the upgraded top cap, which very often develops a hairline crack and allows air to escape, resulting in symptoms as described). I plan to follow these guides: Regards etc., Wojtek --- WAS: 2006 RRS Supercharged IS: 2010 RRS TDV8 HSE |
