Tyre Wear Question...

Hi, i am due two new front tyres on the sport, question is they have both worn the inner and outer edges of both tyres evenly, but left quite a bit of meat in the center. I have always kept the tyre pressures checked but any advice would be appreciated, thanks Thumbs Up 2007, HSE, Cairnes Blue, Factory tints, Love it !!!

When you say checked @ what psi?
I have found in the past that what you are describing is caused by under inflation, extreme cornering (not fast just at full lock ) or bad 4 wheel alignment.
So I would recommmend tyre rotation or new tyres with an alignment plus running higher pressures (near the top recommended limit) 2006 4.2 S/C with Tow Pack, Side Steps, DRL's, 19" & 20" wheels, additional 110 ltr Fuel Tank Roof Rack and performance mods.

1952 Rover 75 (Cyclops) First Car !!! Fond memories -was restored-good for 93mph.

If it is wearing inner & outer edge then you are running them under inflated.

33 front and 36 rear is only good for light loads (ic max 2/3 people , no lugage, moderate speeds). Max pressure rates are 38 and 42 respectively, but makes the suspension very harsh
In my experience a pressure of 35 front and 38/39 at the back works best.

Wales 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Lux Sumatra Black

The label on my door of RRS has several alternatives for tyre pressures shown for numbers of people weight of rear loads etc with a much wider range of tyre pressures. Could this be for the 2011-2013 facelift models?
Can photograph in morning if it would be of any help? John

If they are wearing just on either the inside or outside edge on the same axle, then I'd look at getting the 4 wheel alignment checked as CRACKA suggested.
Mine did the very same thing until I got it properly aligned via the dealers. It wore through 2 pairs of rear tyres in 2 years because of this & I don't drive it like a hoon.
The local tyre fitting garage couldn't seem to get the settings right despite having the latest hunter laser alignment equipment. For some reason their software was suggesting mine was a 2.7 TDV6 (it's a 3.0 TDV6) too.

If they have both worn on inner & outer edges as you say, then everyone else is probably correct in that the tyre pressures are too low. Either that or you are doing lots of tight turns (in and out of side roads etc). I'm in the shed, I'll be back in the real world in a minute.
