No need to be scared of buying if you go in with your eyes wide open, remember that anything that looks too good to be true usually is.............. And don't be swayed by body kitted, jazzed up, chipped, modified cars. RRS is a complex car and repair prices are often high, there are lots out there and many have been abused so do plenty of research.

All pre 2010MY RRS have a 6 speed Auto, there is no such thing as a manual Sport! All have a low ratio transfer box too so ALWAYS change that the transfer system between high and low boxes is working smoothly and almost silently. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

The gearbox in a 2006 is a ZF 6HP26 6-speed automatic. It almost certainly will not have had anything done to it unless it broke in some way earlier in its life. LR state that the gearbox oil is good for 150k miles. This is rubbish. If the gearbox on the one you are looking at shifts smoothly and behaves as one would expect, then budget £250+ for a gearbox oil change as soon as you get it home. This is for a "mega flush" oil change, not the LR method and is more effective.

It's worth looking at the wiki on disco3.co.uk. The RRS shares many of its issues with the Disco 3 as they are basically identical below the body. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
