So was he not insured? Why is it your problem?

He was insured, that's not the issue.
The issue is why the f**k Guy Salmon want to charge nearly £4K for doing something that in reality is going to cost about £100!! They are a bunch of f***ing con artists. Given I've just handed them a cheque for £100,000 it is pretty poor in my book. Surely you diagnose exactly what the problem is before quoting somebody a price for doing a job? Its no different to a "cowboy builders" scenario!

What was he driving? For the painted part of the bumper to be scratched and the tail pipes to be bent he must have hit pretty hard.

I would be furious, but not at the dealer. I would be apoplectic if the insurers came back to me and said this is nothing, a bit of polish and glaze will remove the scratches and you can pull the dent in the exhaust out with some pliers and polish with some Autosol.

Let the idiot and his insurers worry about the quote. It's not your problem.

I know what you are saying Phil, I just don't like to see people being ripped off (by stupid dealers), carn't remember what he was driving tbh, something quite small.
The scratches are so small they are hardly noticeable, if they can be sorted without the whole bumper being taken off and repainted I will take the easier option, plus I'd have a two week wait if I went for the re-spray.
As for the tip of the exhaust pipe, if my dent man can sort it and it looks right then why take the long winded option of replacing the whole thing? Seems stupid to me. If it carn't be corrected properly then I will have no option.

Thats sharp. I think if I had the chance to go back again, I would have done the dark grey, black roof, and bespoke blue stitching on the interior like Phils. Definitely going bespoke on my next one!
