Judging from my recent experience I would say £19k. I was shocked how low I had to go to sell my 2011 with 38,000 miles, new tyres and just serviced and MOT. Current Merc GLE 3.5d 2016 model, 2011 RRS HSE standard

Interesting 1x 2010 and 1 x 2011 RRS changed for BMW X5 and MERC GLE 3.5 plus Andys 2012 RRS to BMW and yet we all loved our RRS vehicles so why the change.

Crux of the matter is that JLR dealers are bunch of thieving so-and-so's with their pathetic px valuations. I've owned 2xJaguars and 3xLR variations and each time I've been offered less to px at JLR dealers than at Indy's or other manufacturer's dealers. But at the same time you pay a premium at JLR on an "approved used" so god knows what mark-up they put on them.

I'm not entirely convinced the dealers are to blame here, many are part of big groups (Stratstones et al) so their operating policies and margins are likely to be led by them. I wonder is it because the manufacturer doesn't support the network as well as other manufacturers do and therefore the dealerships are unfairly penalising the customers?

I have had less than ideal dealer experiences too (and not just regarding quoted part-ex prices) but I feel it isn't right to generalise. I got excellent px for my last two RRS1s at a main dealer. Better than any private buyer would have paid, let alone a different marque dealership/independent trader/WBAC etc. The first was traded in Dec 2013 and the second in Sep 2015 so both after the new shape was already out and my cars were less desirable (but low mileage and in superb condition). I looked around and test drove other makes on each occasion. While the good trade-in price was not the most important reason, it certainly helped in staying with the brand. You obviously have a good dealer who kept your business. Against a new RRS they offered me less than WBAC. I was honest with them and said I thought a new RRS2 was outside of budget and what about a 1-2yr one low mileage and you could see them give up on me. ^ That does sound bad. Most of the time they make very good money on the used ones too so should have at least tried to offer you what you were after. Even with lower margins, they could have been professional.
