IMHO the utopian answer is to have 20" wheels (perhaps Stormers) with 45 profile tyres, in my case General Grabber UHP, and then you have a splendid ride, great look alloys which don't get kerbed, and the combo fills the wheelarches nicely.

Beforehand I had 20" factory fitted Scorpions , 40 profile, and the ride is now close to Disco 3/4s! GGS seems to last longer I suspect, than Scorpions.

The TDV8 had 20in fitted as standard but the 19in is the "off road" size. To call fitting a manufacturer option a "modification" is taking it a touch far, in my view.

My fault, sorry. I just missunderstood what you said.

Very Happy !!! RRS TDV8 !!!

Toni, I did the exact oposite and downgraded my wheels from 20" to 19", what made a hell lot of difference in driving comfort. So for me this is a no brainer but everyone to their taste. I only wander why would any one buy a 4x4 and make it useless off tarmac???

because my good man, mine is never going to go off road, except onto my drive that is Razz 07,TDV8,Black, Black Heated leather all round, Rear Entertainment with Headpones & Remote, TV, DVD, Pure Dab Digital Radio, Sidesteps, Adaptive Headlights, sunroof, now working fuel burning heater Smile)))

I'm on 22's, and I'v had enough, can't even bump up a small curb without sheeeeeting myself. So im replacing them with 20's and bigger sidewalls. The 22's look the nuts, but are agro imo.

I've gone from 20" to 22", I've got the new autobiography wheels on sport hse, the look amazing and the drive is the same.. I would say tyre brand and thead dictate comfort..

Cheeky!

I'll make this thread revival worth it, with a before and after pics, also changed the grills, thought the black gloss made it look narrow.

After

Don't these wheels feel... oversized for the car? I know, it's a matter of personal preferences, but for me anything larger than 20" looks kinda odd on a RRS. I don't know, it's probably just me. Regards etc.,

Couldn't disagree more, when I had the 20" the car seemed short, now it has presence everywhere it goes..

I put 19" rims on for winter and didn't want to take them off. The excellent ride became even better and the comfort over potholes was very noticeable.

By the way, I have some super 19" 15-spoke style 5 alloys rims for sale!! Presently fitted with Michelin winter tyres in great condition. I am not trying to hi-jack the thread and plan to offer them in autumn. Now sold 2010 TDV8 Santorini black, lots of extras and best car I ever owned, and there's been a few. I will be back.

I came back with an L405 FFRR
