Having found my RRS 2 unable to cope with my off road needs on standard Pirelli Verde tyres this last winter due to the wet and muddy conditions, I have decided to fit a second set of rims -20" - for next winter. the choice for standard size of 255/55/r20 is limited to the Goodyear Duratrac or the Grabber AT. The latter coped just about on my son's Freelander with luck and good skill by him but struggled on a Range Rover (05 model). I think that the Duratrac might be better given the much more aggressive pattern but welcome any opinions from anyone who has experience of these tyres especially on a RRS. |

Not RRS, but Discovery and the Duratracs work in pretty much all conditions I've been through so far. They're not quite as aggressive as the MTR that Goodyear stopped making, but with the extra sipes on the sidewall, that seems to certainly help. Bodsys Brake Bible

Thanks for both replies. Mud is chalk and clay - a real bad mixture! and can get quite deep 4 - 6 ins. Typical of what you get in the Chilterns with steep inclines as well. Really can be quite challenging in parts. |

Just found out from Goodyear UK that they no longer market the Duratrac in 255/55R20 in the UK. So that only leaves the General Grabber as an offroad tyre available in standard sizing for the RRS2 |
