2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Bonatti Grey
New Owner with an issue

Have just got my first RRS- a 2005 2.7 SE in Bonatti Grey with cream leather, not new to the marque though, I've had a couple of FFRRs before, it has done 103k and is overdue a service so its going to have a full service and the belts done too in the next week or so.
It drives pretty well, one thing though is, when it comes on boost there is a loud noise like a rush of air-not just normal turbo whistle, plus it does seem to kick out a good bit of smoke when I put my foot down, from similar experience on other cars I'm guessing a split turbo hose?, is there one that goes most commonly on these?, and where abouts are they?, I've not had a poke around under the bonnet much yet as it's pretty much all just covers, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Just had a quick look, think I got the right hose, it starts at the front of the engine, behind the fan and goes down to the bottom, offside, if so, I could feel a good 2-3 inch split in the pipe, any idea how much one is from LR?.

Changed this pipe today and it's like a different car, pulls properly through the Rev range and feels much more lively, not to mention it isn't kicking out loads of smoke anymore, how much power does it drop with a split in the pipe?.
Another bonus is my mpg has gone up from 21.9 to 24.5.
