SVR tire replacement question

Hi All,

So I got a flat in one of my tires this past weekend. It is not patchable. So I have about 2/8 of an inch above the wear indicators. Do I need to replace all four wheels or just the one? One axle? Any help would be great!

All the best!

As you've around 1/4" or 6mm you'll be fine with one tyre. Incidentally, as you're on aftermarket rims, what tyres are you running anyway?

Working on it my friend. Flat tire and inclement weather has been daunting. Hopefully this weekend. Isn't your car due soon?

Also, see that I just had my flat last week, I did notice there is a spare in the car under the rear loading area. Is the car spec'd for performance with or without that spare? Can I remove it? Will it make a difference?

Depends on if it is a full size or space saver Mafro. Space savers are limited not only to speed (in UK supposed to be 50mph) but also to range (IIRC 50miles). If it is a full size or reduced section then IIRC LR calculates the rolling diameters to be the same size so you can use it longer and faster. IIRC space savers come with a load of yellow markings on the wheel to make them highly visible when in use too. I'm not 100% certain of above so expect to be corrected. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

I'm sorry. I should clarify. I want to take it out so I no longer am carrying the weight, and was wondering when they designed and engineered the SVR if it included the space saver spare or not. I don't want to take out the spare if it is part of the balance of the vehicle, etc. Sorry for the confusion.

Although not hugely heavy the weight of the spare should be detected by the air suspension and due allowance made in the ride settings. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I'm going to take it out and see if I notice a difference. It would be good to hear if DaveW has an opinion on this but I appreciate the feedback Tim.

You will probably need it. But with the collection you have I am surprised you are not addicted to sleeping pills yet. Laughing
