I have a MY12 RRS with a powered tailgate.
I'd like to fit a dashboard switch in parallel with the tailgate close button so as to be able to close the tailgate from inside the cabin.

Has anyone attempted this? Are there any genuine issues apart from H&S.?

Does anyone approve of my alloys treatment?

I looked into this, unfortunately I can't remember where I saw the installation instructions and pictures of this mod, but I don't think it will work on the RRSport because the Ewoke tailgate switch wiring harness is different to the Sport and the plug that the New Control unit plugs into is not in the Sport tailgate wiring harness so there is no where to plug it into.

I replaced the Switch in my Tailgate recently and the switch has been superceded and now uses the same switch as the Ewoke so has all the extra wires and plug in the switch but there is no connector on the main tailgate harness to connect it to.

Not saying it can't be done but I think it will be more involved than fitting the Ewoke mod. but hopefully I'm wrong

I like the alloy treatment. Did you apply it yourself? I have just picked up a similar set of SC rims and want to apply the same treatment. Any advice would be gladly received.

I made a unit for my RRS 2012 and it works perfect.
Connected four wires and now when the tailgate is open, I press either the tailgate button on the remote or on the dash and it closes.
Took me 20 mins to fit.

Sure,

I made a little timer circuit that switches on milliseconds after the button is presses, and off milliseconds after its released.
The central locking motor on the tailgate lock powers the circuit and is connected also to the tailgate close button on the tailgate.
There is also a read switch fitted so it only operates when the tailgate is open.

I will make one up and test it, have a fellow who approached me first to test it.
Then I can make a few more with fitting instructions etc.

Hardest part is getting the tailgate trim off lol
