United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black
What do you think

After selling my 08 TDV8 6 months ago and immediately regretting it I'm looking at getting back into another.
It's only a weekend car as I have a company one so I'm considering a super charged petrol

Spotted this one not to far from me https://smgmedia.blob.core.windows.net/pdf...233405.pdf
Love the colour but not sure on the interior.

Any opinions

Lovely looking car- but strong money for a 10 year old motor.

that's what i thought, looks great in the pictures but you pay a premium if its as good as it looks, its just is it worth the premium compared to a standard one?

I reckon the FFRR they have is better value. The RRS is strong money for a bodykit and questionable interior "redesign". The ad talks lovingly about the engine; it's the least popular choice a.k.a. "rare" for a good reason; it's thirsty and not that muscular. It's only marginally more powerful than the TDV8 but it's missing a shed load of torque. If you're not planning many miles you'd be better off with the 4.2 S/C. That's got noise and go aplenty!

One question: why is the battery box lid missing? Odd.
Oh, and no mention of the service history - something they mention in other ads where there is a full history claimed.

View it with eyes wide open, I think... Whistle 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

I've never driven the normally aspirated V8 sport. I have driven the full fat, 1998 model, and not sure how comparable that is but personally I'd go supercharged. You only live once etc.

I wouldn't buy a Khan if it was half price because they look terrible to my eyes. I feel the red example you found is overpriced compared to comparable cars without the modifications to the tune of £4K or so. And modded cars do not age gracefully. And no supercharger so all mouth and no trousers? No thanks, brother! But that £4K premium looks like market rate.

To me, this £18k silver one looks SO MUCH better: Thumbs Up

Yum yum yum!

Or £15.5k for this Bobby Dazzler:

If you can go to £25k you'd get a 2009 facelift 5.0, so if it were me I would be stretching to that even if it meant selling my soul.

Or if you want something a bit more shouty but don't like red, try this: Whistle

That one looks good, doesn't it. One owner from new, correct number of services with none of the miles stretched. Entirely standard. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

It's not even got a supercharger.

No point having a petrol without the supercharger!

Well been and had a look at it, decided in the end it wasn't for me just had that gut feeling, plus he's had it for at least 6 months with no takers,
Came across this http://www.marquisclassicandprestige.org/u...1109972955
Spoke to the guy and it sounds amazing full dealer history and a 22k bill from overfinch for the upgrade in 2012 which includes from what he told me everything including the exhaust system not just the tail pipes.
Only thing putting me off is the year of the car. But with a private plate on it it would look 50k.

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

That's a lot of money for what is basically a tarted up 13 year old car. Also it is an L322 Range Rover not a Sport, and at 2003 one of the very earliest cars. In addition to the Overfinch mods it has also had a 2010 facelift front put onto it................. 2003 FFRR was very prone to blowing front diffs, looks great but way overpriced and could be a heap of problems. FFRR's of that era also fetch south of 10k these days................ Even with low miles 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Thanks for the reply,
I no what you mean about the age/cost but it's a great looking car that with a private plate would pass as a 2012 car,
The face lift was carried out by overfinch along with the upgrades for 22k in 2012.
He's also offered to send it to range rover to be fully checked along with a full service.

It might look like a 2012 version but, underneath, all of the oily bits are still 2003 with the problems that potentially brings.

And he would send it to Land Rover, not Range Rover. Sounds like he doesn't know the brand very well.

It also sounds like you are attracted by the bling - the Overfinch kit might have cost many thousands but it adds little in real terms to the value now. Don't be blinded by the sharp suit - it's what's underneath that matters. The big Land Rovers are all expensive to maintain so buy the mechanically best one you can find. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
