2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

If you use the paddles it sets the gearbox to Sport mode so it will go to the rev limiter before automatically changing up, or you pull the paddle to up shift it will stay in command shift for a set time before reverting to auto/ D but you can override it back into D by holding the paddle for 5 secs I think (it tells you how in the manual).
Dynamic mode is meant to weight up the steering, tighten the air springs and remaps the anti roll bar electro-hydraulics and makes the system monitor its settings more often and it sharpens throttle response, you can use both Dynamic and Sport to get a really sporty car. The 4.4 has always had a bit of a remote sensation to the throttle even in the L405 FFRR, the 3.0 V6 doesn't seem to suffer from it. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

How the paddle shift reverts to Auto is available in the driving features menu I think. You can have it so that you can use the paddles in D but after a while it reverts to auto. If in Sport as soon as you use the paddles you cannot revert to auto without flicking back into D.
Interesting your comment re the throttle feel on the SDV8 . Maybe that's why I didn't feel like the car was much faster than my SDV6. By the way throttle feel is different in each selectable programme. For instance in "grass, gravel and snow" the response is somewhat dulled so as not to induce wheelspin. In "Sand" however the response is much more aggressive to keep up momentum.
Strange thing is on my car if I keep the mode in Auto after pulling out of my driveway and onto our dirt road the car seems to think its on sand and the throttle response is extremely aggressive for a few hundred meters and then settles down. I have mentioned this to my dealer who cannot give me a reason for it. RRS P460e

Just another little bug bear? the drivers side window will go up with a short pull up on the button, this does not seem to be the case for any of the other windows, seems for me I have to hold the button until the window is all the way up ? am I getting this wrong?

Good to hear my observations are similar to other owners. I think I have the paddles set for all modes , and as stated I reset by changing from drive to sport or sport to drive , being intuitive would be better IMO. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

They need resetting. Easy to do, its in the handbook!..I think it is all the way down then all the way up and wait for a second or two with finger still on the button.
Sounds like your dealer didn't get them properly. They need reseting the after the battery is disconnected and reconnected. RRS P460e

Thanks Rangie, I'll try the reset . Been working on getting DTS music files on DVD to play and so far have sourced two music DVD's compiled by another person, so it is doable. The sound system has got to be one of my most liked features of the car.

Another little Bug , using the thumb press to lock seems to be very hit and miss. Find I'm always using the key. The unlock on the other hand is very good , better than my other Euro cars, oops Britain is still in he Euro ??

I really enjoy driving the beast and find I'm looking for excuses to take her out, a good sign. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.
