Do you think they have changed the policy wording since that claim? I was reading their coverage here and I had specifically noticed the intercooler exclusion when reading my own material:
https://www.warrantydirect.co.uk/policywording.html (ExtraCare)

It would be great if they had it as an exclusion but for some other reason they coughed up. But I am hoping to never test this part of the policy!

Another thing that seems to change is cover for suspension... in 6+ year old cars (i.e. SecureCare) they don't seem to mention suspension at all... this will apply to me on next renewal as mine is a November 2010 car. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso
RRS TDV6 HSE Lux (MY2011)... Nara Bronze / Arabica - now gone!

They may well have done- it was last year they did it and I'm not with them anymore. I did have to contribute a percentage of the price of the parts which increased as the car got older, and they paid all the labour. When I came to renew the cover didn't seem as good so I didn't renew as I'd had my money's worth in the first year. Plus mines over 10 years old now and I'm not sure they will offer any worthwhile cover.

TBH Guys, I reckon you get what you pay for. I've just shelled out for the LR warranty. Car is 4 years old. They will cover up to 10 years and 100k miles. Much less grief when things like the brake lines corrode and the body has to come off. Plus, not paying out first and claiming it back is a big bonus for me. WD actually wanted to charge me more than LR. Not sure if that's because mine's petrol though.

When I bought the car, it came with an RAC warranty. Frankly, not worth the paper it's written on. Now used as emergency spares in the loo. Wink Cheers,

Stuart.

Hi guys I've had a quote from warranty direct of £550 a year this includes FULL parts and FULL labour costs they cover 99% of issues besides wear and tear items which is fair enough.

Does that sound like a decent quote? I had him confirm they would pay the lot in the event of a claim!

Opinions?

I've got the RAC policy too but it's been good for me so far Smile - paid out 3 claims:

1. Crankshaft position sensor
2. intercooler pipe and knocking noise from front
3. low pressure fuel pump and sensor

100% paid for parts and labour - Thumbs Up

Sometimes can be the garage you use - mine through Saxtons 4x4 so always just go back to them and they get it sorted.

You can't argue with that. You may be right about the garage. I know Saxtons but they're too far from me.

My vibe is the max labour rate is too low with the RAC at £76 p/h. I try to stick with the LR network at present as they will pick it up and give me a replacement car plus they don't bicker over things like relays etc.

You pays your money, you makes your choice Wink Cheers,

How much do you pay for a LR warranty? I will have 16 months to run on mine from buying an approved used. RRS is just over 4 yrs old with 14,000 on clock so hoping it will be offered to me at a reasonable rate for a few years Evoque HSE Dynamic

My warranty (rac - which came with the car, a 2012, when purchased) is due to run out in a couple of months & thinks about an extended warranty. But £1k/year!! Are these things that unreliable & expensive to fix?
