It will be the uncomfortable driving position, the slowness, the drafty and leaky cabin, the lack of decent heating and the pathetic headlights for night driving that is so appealing, the complete antithesis of the modern Land Rover product............ 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Shouldn't be a problem as there are many V8 conversions of S1's for the Comp Safari racers, many are also autos BUT cooling can be a problem with them and they need all sorts of extra fans. Many have the big old Buick V8 Rover lump or a Big Block Chevy V8. Worth checking that with the big engine there are also up rated brakes to stop the thing!! If you are not going to do classics parades / concors D'elegance, then what does it matter what is under the bonnet? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

S3's are available with factory V8's, it was a "standard" option for them but due to alcoholic style fuel consumption many were converted to big American or Japanese truck diesels or (God forbid) LPG. Specialist insurers/ brokers like Adrian Flux have no problem with modified Landies although I don't know what sort of premiums they charge! Just noticed that my 20 year old Defender 90 covered just 1350 miles between 2015/2016 MOT's and only a few miles more in the previous 2 years so will looking at reducing the policy mileage limitation I have further. Also at 20 years old do they qualify for Classic Car cover now? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
